Responsibilities:
Law Enforcement:
– Patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of residents and visitors.
– Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and criminal activities.
– Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
Community Engagement:
– Foster positive relationships with community members through proactive interaction and communication.
– Attend community events and meetings to address concerns, provide information, and build trust.
– Collaborate with community organizations to develop and implement crime prevention programs.
Enforcement of Laws:
– Enforce federal, state, and local laws to maintain public order.
– Issue citations, warnings, and make arrests as necessary.
– Testify in court and provide credible testimony related to investigations.
Emergency Response:
– Respond to emergencies, accidents, and disasters to provide assistance and ensure public safety.
– Coordinate with other emergency services and agencies as needed.
Training and Professional Development:
– Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with legal and law enforcement practices.
– Continuously improve skills related to firearms, defensive tactics, and other law enforcement techniques.
Administrative Duties:
– Complete and maintain accurate records, including incident reports, arrest records, and other documentation.
– Attend departmental meetings and trainings as required.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred).
2. Completion of a certified police academy and possession of a valid Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate.
3. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
4. Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
7. Physical fitness and ability to perform essential job functions.
